Ron Monnig, a lifelong Missourian and dedicated resident of Eagle Rock, has announced his candidacy for the 29th District of the Missouri Senate. With over 45 years of service to his community, Ron brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to improving the lives of those in Barry, McDonald, Lawrence, and Christian counties.

As a retired small business owner, Ron understands the challenges faced by local entrepreneurs and the importance of economic development. He has successfully navigated the complexities of running a business and now aims to bring that expertise to the Missouri Senate.

Ron’s extensive public service includes nine terms as a Slater City Council member, where he was known for his pragmatic approach and ability to work across the aisle. His leadership extended to the national stage, where he served on the National League of Cities Economic Development Committee, advocating for policies that support local economies.

Additionally, Ron has played a significant role in state-level initiatives. He was appointed to the Governor’s Commission on Intergovernmental Cooperation, where he worked to enhance collaboration between state and local governments. His contributions were further recognized through his service on Governor Nixon’s Citizens Transition Advisory Committee and Inaugural Celebration Committee, where he provided valuable insights during critical transitions.
