“I am running for the Missouri Senate to address the real issues faced by the people of Barry, McDonald, Lawrence and Christian counties that have been ignored for too long,” Monnig said. “Our community deserves a Senator that will work with their peers to make things easier for area families, not use our lives to score political points.”
A trusted and savvy small businessman, Monnig served nine terms as a Slater City Council member, has served on the National League of Cities Economic Development Committee, and has led Missouri delegations at congressional conferences. Monnig was a member of the Governor’s Commission on Intergovernmental Cooperation and served as a member of Governor Nixon’s Citizens Transition Advisory Committee and Inaugural Celebration Committee.
